Dental BondingDental bonding is a procedure in which we will apply a tooth-colored composite or resin material to your teeth before curing it with a visible light so that it hardens. This allows the material to bond to the tooth to improve the appearance. It is especially beneficial in altering the shape of your teeth and to close gaps, especially in the front teeth.
Dental BridgesDental bridges are fixed appliances that can replace missing teeth. A fixed bridge will typically consist of two porcelain crowns that are attached to metal and a false tooth (or teeth). The crowns slip over the teeth on either side of a gap, and the false teeth will fill in the space left behind by a missing tooth (or teeth).
Dental CrownsDental crowns are used to restore teeth that are broken, cracked, or decayed. Sometimes known as a cap, dental crowns will cover the entire surface of your tooth in order to restore its original size, shape, and function. Most crowns are made in a dental lab, and they can be created in order to look just like your natural teeth, so most people will never know that you have a replacement tooth covering.
Full and Partial DenturesIf you have experienced significant or widespread tooth loss, full or partial, dentures may be recommended. Full dentures are removable prosthetic devices that feature a gum-colored plastic base with white false teeth. They sit on the gum ridge, and they will require that all of the natural teeth are removed. On the other hand, partial dentures are removable appliances that are held into place by attaching to the adjacent, healthy teeth, usually with wires or metal clasps.
FillingsFillings are used in order to treat cavities and to restore the areas of a tooth that have been damaged by decay. We use both silver (amalgam) and tooth-colored (composite) materials to fill the holes in after removing the decay. Composite fillings are often used for the front teeth in order to appear as natural as possible, but since silver fillings tend to be stronger, they are typically recommended for filling in cavities of the molars.
Porcelain VeneersPorcelain veneers consist of thin shells of tooth-shaped and durable porcelain that have been customized for your unique teeth. They are bonded onto the front surfaces of your natural teeth in order to correct imperfections and to provide you with a beautiful, white smile.
Root Canal TherapyA root canal, otherwise known as endodontic therapy, is primarily a restorative solution for a tooth that has experienced severe decay. This procedure is used to save teeth that may otherwise need to be extracted due to extreme damage. This infection can develop as a result of cavities, crowns, large fillings, trauma, cracks, or extreme wear.
Sedation DentistryIf you have extreme dental anxiety, you are in good company, as many people suffer from fear about visiting the dentist. This could be a result of past traumatic experiences or other phobias. At Advanced Family Dentistry & Braces, we work hard to make sure that our patients are comfortable throughout their procedures, so we offer sedation dentistry. We offer several different types of sedation dentistry, including nitrous oxide (laughing gas), oral medications, and IV sedation.
TMJ TherapyThe temporomandibular joint (TMJ) is a hinge that connects the jaw to the skull at the temporal bones, and this joint allows you to move your jaw from side to side and up and down, allowing you to yawn, chew, and talk. However, when it is misaligned, you might experience extreme jaw pain, headaches, and sinus or ear infections.
Whitening or BleachingIf you are interested in a whiter smile, bleaching or whitening is a non-invasive way to change the color of your natural enamel. At Advanced Family Dentistry & Braces, we offer two different ways to whiten your teeth:
|•||Zoom Whitening - We can whiten your teeth using a special solution and light in our office. The entire procedure takes about 1.5 hours.|
|•||At-Home Whitening - We will create clear trays that have been customized for your mouth. You will place the whitening gel into the trays at home and will wear the trays overnight. This process takes 7-14 days to achieve the desired results.|
