Dr. Jeffery Gerhardt is a proud Texas native and has dedicated his career to helping patients of all ages achieve beautiful smiles through comprehensive family dentistry and orthodontic care.
Dr. Gerhardt graduated from the University of Texas at Austin in 1988 with a degree in Business and a minor in Biology. He went on to earn his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Texas Dental School in San Antonio in 1992. He then pursued two years of continuing education in Orthodontics in 1998. Dr. Gerhardt later received Invisalign certification in 2002 and advanced Invisalign training in 2009. In that same year, he also completed training in Clear Correct clear aligner therapy.
In 1996, Dr. Gerhardt founded Advanced Family Dentistry, where he has built a practice focused on providing high-quality, comprehensive dental care for patients of all ages.
Beyond treating patients, Dr. Gerhardt has been actively involved in teaching orthodontics to other general dentists. From 2000 to 2022, he served as an orthodontic instructor for the Academy of GP Orthodontics. In 2022, he founded the Orthodontic Teaching Institute, where he serves as lead instructor, teaching general dentists advanced techniques in braces and clear aligner treatment. Through this program, select patients at Advanced Family Dentistry may have the opportunity to participate in orthodontic training courses and have their teeth straightened at a reduced fee.
Dr. Gerhardt is a diplomate in orthodontics from the Academy of GP Orthodontics. His professional interests include orthodontics (braces and clear aligners) and family dentistry, allowing him to provide comprehensive care for patients of all ages.
He is a member of the American Dental Association, the Texas Dental Association, and the Capital Area Dental Society.
Dr. Gerhardt has also published numerous articles on orthodontics for the Academy of GP Orthodontics and the Journal of the American Orthodontic Society. Links to selected publications are provided below.
When he’s not transforming smiles, Dr. Gerhardt enjoys spending time with his wife, Diana, staying active through fitness and tennis, and traveling.
